A 20-minute method to reconnect with the real you

💬 “I feel lost.”

If that sentence has been echoing in your mind lately—you’re not broken. You’re not lazy. You’re not behind.

You’re just disconnected. From you.

Maybe you've been doing what you were “supposed” to do. Maybe life moved faster than you could keep up. Or maybe you've changed so much that you're not sure who you are anymore.

This guide is here to help you come home to yourself—in just 20 intentional minutes.

🧭 Why This Works

Most people try to “find themselves” by changing their jobs, moving cities, or overhauling their lives overnight.

But true clarity doesn’t come from running away—it comes from pausing and turning inward.

This isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about remembering.

⏳ The 20-Minute Method: A Step-by-Step Self-Reconnection Practice

🕰️ What You’ll Need:

  • 20 minutes

  • A quiet space (or your favorite cozy chaos)

  • A notebook or journal

  • Zero pressure to get it “right”

🔹 Step 1: Set the Scene (1 minute)

Light a candle. Put on music. Pour your drink of choice. Set a timer for 20 minutes. This time is just for you.

✨ Whisper to yourself: “I’m allowed to know myself again.”

🔹 Step 2: Dump the Noise (3 minutes)

Answer this journal prompt:

“Who have I been trying to be lately?”
“What roles or expectations have I been carrying that don’t fit anymore?”

Write it all down. Be honest. Be messy.

🔹 Step 3: Remember Who You Are (5 minutes)

Now, shift the focus inward. Reflect on a time in your life you felt most like you.

Ask yourself:

  • What was I doing?

  • What made me come alive?

  • What did I not care about back then that I obsess over now?

Write until something stirs. Even one word matters.

🔹 Step 4: Who You Want to Be Now (7 minutes)

This is where clarity comes in.

Journal Prompt:
“If I could be anyone—without fear, judgment, or pressure—what kind of person would I choose to be?”

Let yourself dream. Would you be softer? Louder? More creative? Less polished? More playful? Write out a day in the life of the version of you who feels most authentic.

🔹 Step 5: One Tiny Action (3–4 minutes)

Circle one part of that vision you can do today.

  • Is it wearing that outfit?

  • Signing up for the class?

  • Saying no?

  • Walking outside without your phone?

Write your answer:
“To feel more like myself today, I will ___.”

Then do it.

🪞 Final Reflection

You don’t find yourself all at once. You find yourself one honest moment at a time.

And you just had one.

✨ Come back to this method anytime you forget who you are.
You’re not lost. You’re on your way home.
